Culm Grass

THE CULM GRASS PROJECT

The culm grass project is a collaboration between Devon Wildlife Trust, Exeter University and landowners to restore and protect this rare habitat, important to biodiversity and rich in nutrients and  wildlife.

Clifford Water Lakes has an area of culm grass currently under management.

The benefits of culm grassland management include natural protection from flooding (Clifford Water Lakes is on an Environment Agency flood plain), capture and storage of carbon, improved water quality, and more.

There is a wealth of information on the many benefits of culm grass available at -  https://www.devonwildlifetrust.org

Please get involved to help in the management of this internationally important natural asset.
